Overview

Malakpet, situated in the southern parts of Hyderabad is one of the oldest areas and it belongs to the Telangana region. This region was divided into two parts; Old and New and comes under the Municipal Corporation. Some of the adjacent areas lying in close proximity to Malakpet are Hyderabad, Nampally, Putlibowli, Dilsukh Nagar, Saidabad, Santosh Nagar, Talab Katta, Lal Darwaza, Attapur, and Mehdipatnam. Malakpet is bordered by Amberpet and Moosarambagh in the north, Dilsukhnagar in the east, Chaderghat in the west and Saidabad in the south. The major landmarks here are the popular Hyderabad Race Club, and also the historic Mahbub Mansion Market or Mahbub Gunj Market. The Nalgonda "X" Roads Junction is a major commercial hub. The Roads connected through this place are Golnaka Road, Zinda Tilismath Road, Patel Nagar Road, Amberpet Main Road, Vivek Nagar Main Road, Kachiguda Station Road, Narayanguda Road and Himayat Nagar Road.

Connectivity

The state-owned TSRTC runs the city bus service, connecting to all the major centres of the city. All the buses running from Dilsukhnagar and Midhani bus depots pass through Malakpet.

Malakpet has an MMTS train station, which is used for commuting. The Nalgonda 'X' Road connects the nearby busy areas of Dilsukhnagar and Saidabad and is a hub of huge traffic.

It has excellent connectivity to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport which is located at a driving distance of 27.4 kms via NH 44.

Malakpet, Dabirpura, Yakutpura, Huppuguda, and Falaknuma are its nearby railway stations. However, Malakpet is the nearest and major railway station located at a distance of 1 km via Azampura Bridge Road and NH 65.
