Shilphata, Thane

Overview

Shilphata is located east of Parsik Hills on the old Mumbai-Pune Road (NH 4) and south of Mumbra. It lies in close proximity to Kalsekar, Phadke Pada, Shilgaon, Daighar Gaon, Mahape, Ghansoli, Mulund East & West, Naupada, Thane east, Vashi and Dombivli. It is strategically lying between Thane and Navi Mumbai. It lies on the intersection of NH-4 and SH-76. The area also connects the upcoming areas of Dombivli and Kalyan to the industrial areas of Kharghar and Vashi via the Kalyan-Shilphata Road.

Connectivity

The area is served by the National Highway 4 (Mumbai-Pune Road).

The nearest railway station is the Mumbra railway station which is situated at a distance of 6.3 kilometres via Mumbai-Pune Road and NH 48.

The nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, which is 31 kilometers from the locality via Shilphata-Mahape Road, can be easily accessed less than one an half hour.

NMMT and KDMT transport networks of bus services are operational here.

Some of the other important roads in the area are Kalyan-Shilphata Road and Shilphata Mahape Road. Due to these roads, Shilphata acts as a gateway to Navi Mumbai for people coming from Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli areas.

Factors for future growth

The locality is witnessing an increase in the population in the recent years owing to its proximity to various commercial complexes in and near Shilphata, such as Bandra-Kurla Complex which is situated at a distance of 30.6 km via Mumbai Highway.

There are plans to improve the rail connectivity to the area. The planned monorail line between Mahape and Kalyan will pass through the area.

Shilphata has a huge potential in terms of real estate growth, primarily due to its strategic location and good road connectivity. With proper development, it may become the next Ghodbunder Road and Mira Road.
