Parel is a suburban area of Mumbai which originally was one of the seven islands of Mumbai. Parel lends it name to two stations on the suburban railway network of Mumbai with Parel on the Central track and Lower Parel on the Western track of the railway. Primarily dominated by textile mills in the 80’s, Parel in today’s times is dominated by the luxurious skyscrapers which developed as part of redevelopment of the mills. BEST bus services and taxis are the modes of road transport which offer connectivity within the area limits and also to nearby suburbs. Parel also enjoys excellent rail connectivity with both the Central and Western suburbs of Mumbai. Dadar located close by is a terminal and important halt station for all the long distance trains and one can easily avail outstation trains from there.
