Overview
Malad East, situated in the northern parts of Mumbai is a popular and an attractive residential area for middle-class population. Malad East has a railway station on the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, lying between Kandivali station to the north and Goregaon station to the south. The railway tracks of the Western Line divide Malad into Malad (West) and Malad (East). Malad East has Daftary Road, which runs across from the station on the East up till the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway and this is one of the most congested roads in Mumbai's suburbs. Malad is becoming an IT HUB with many BPOs opening their facilities. Most of this BPOs are situated area behind Inorbit Mall. Charkop Gaon, Kandivali West, Malad West, Goregaon East, Jogeshwari West, Mulund West & East, and Andheri East are its neighboring localities. Malad East is located at a distance of 17 kms via Western Express Highway. It is located close to areas such as Govind Nagar, Pratap Nagar and Mahindra Nagar. It is well-connected to other parts of Mumbai via road, rail and air too.
Connectivity
Malad has a railway station on the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, lying between Kandivali station to the north and Goregaon station to the south. The railway tracks of the Western Line divide Malad into Malad (West) and Malad (East).
One of the main arterial roads of Malad Western side is the Marve Road that starts from S.V.Road and is intersected by the Linking Road and goes up to Madh Island Lands End. From this end you just need to cross by Ferry to reach Versova in minutes.
The Western Express Highway (WEH), among the widest and busiest stretches of road in Maharashtra, runs right through Malad East. An 8-10 laner, this expressway connects Mumbai to all of its surrounding suburbs. Beyond the city limits, this road is known as the National Highway NH-8, which goes all the way up till the national capital of Delhi.
It has excellent connectivity to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport which is located at a distance of 11.6 kms via Aarey Road.
Operational Metro Line-1 from Versova - Andheri - Ghatkopar - 11.4 km is giving hassle-free commute.
Ram Mandir (Oshiwara), Goregaon, Malad, and Kandivli are its nearby railway stations on the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. However, Malad is the nearest and major railway station to Malad East which is located at a distance of 1.6 kms via Poddar Road and Rani Sati Marg.
Proposed and Planned Infra
Proposed or under construction Mumbai Metro Rail when completed, will provide connectivity among the existing Western Express Highway, Western Railway, Operational Metro Line 1 (Ghatkopar to Versova), the ongoing Metro Line 2A (Dahisar to DN Nagar) and the proposed Metro Line 6 (Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli). With an eye on the highway and the upcoming Metro Line 7 (16.75 km elevated corridor with 13 stations from Andheri East to Dahisar East).

Operational Metro Line-1, from Versova - Andheri - Ghatkopar - 11.4 km has reduced the travel time for the people going toward Versova, Andheri, and Ghatkopar.
