Overvieew

Koparkhairane, located in the east of Mumbai is a part of many small villages that were developed by CIDCO as part of the development project of Navi Mumbai. This mode of Navi Mumbai has mostly been built on improved land and it is situated between Ghansoli and Turbhe on the Thane-Vashi railway line. In 1971, CIDCO planned for the development of 14 small nodes of which Koparkhairane was a part and other neighbouring villages of Vashi, Sanpada, Nerul, Airoli, Ulwe, Dronagiri, Taloja, Karanjade, Belapur, Kharghar, Kamothe, New Panvel and Ghansoli. The area developed over the years with the first decade being dedicated to the development of infrastructure like roads, water supply and electricity. Today, Koparkhairane comes under Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

Connectivity

This node has good connectivity to nearby Koparkhairane localities including Vashi, Nerul, Panvel, etc. Koparkhairane has its own railway station which is located at a driving distance of 250 mt, can be easily accessed within 2-3 mins via Amrutha Travels Road where Mumbai local trains ply at a frequency of 5-10 minutes during peak hours.

It has excellent connectivity to the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, which is located at a distance of 32.5 km via Bengaluru-Mumbai Highway/Mumbai Highway/Mumbai-Pandharpur Road. The busiest railway station near to the area is Panvel in the Navi Mumbai region. Various outstation trains halt at Panvel for about 5-20 minutes and it also serves as an important junction enabling nearby residents to use it.

Bus connectivity is offered by BEST which ply between koparkhairane and Chembur, Sion, Worli, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Powai, Borivali, Dadar, Bhandup etc. The area is also serviced my MMTC buses.

Factors for future growth

Koparkhairane is surrounded by major IT hubs of the city which include the Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City or headquarters of Reliance Communications and the Millennium Business Park. The nearest and most significant landmark at Koparkhairane is the Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City which is located at a distance of 2.5 km.

The demand for residential apartments in Kopar Khairane is the highest in comparison to any other locality of Navi Mumbai. Proximity to Ghansoli and Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport, the proposed KoparKhairane-Ghatkopar link, amenities like schools, colleges and hospitals is attracting buyers here.

The industrial belt on the Thane-Belapur Road includes Airoli, Ghansoli and Koparkhairane and is rapidly emerging as a secondary business district, which is further boosting property demand on this corridor.

To see the increasing traffic on this road, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) had asked the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to develop a flyover at the Ghansoli-Talavli stretch, another at Savita Chemical junction and an underpass at Mahape junction.

Due to its proximity to Dombivli, Kopar has access to all social amenities such as educational institutions, healthcare, malls, theatres, banks, markets and temples. Some of the educational institutions include Serra International Preschools, St. Mary's ICSE School, North Point School, Orkidz School of Excellence, Tree House, Rainbow International School to name a few.

Healthcare facilities are also good in the localities.
