Overview

Jayanagar, situated at the northern parts of Bangaore is a wealthy residential and commercial locality in Karnataka. If you see the Google map, you will find that Jayanagar is centrally located and easily accessible from other parts of the city. It comes under BBMP. The entire locality of Jayanagar is divided into 10 blocks out of which, the 3rd and 4th blocks are commercial zones and remaining are residential zones. Further, it is subdivided into 7 wards. It is remained a planned neighborhood right from the beginning and, at the time, largest in Asia. It is surrounded by important area such as JP Nagar, BTM Layout, Banashankari, Chickpet, Koramangala, Malleshwaram etc. Many big shot people resides in Jayanagar. The locality has close proximity to Lalbagh Botanical Gardens. The locality has number of temples. Some of the famous temples include the Ragigudda Temple, Shri Vinayaka Temple, and Shri Dharmanath Jain Temple. Next to the bus stop, there is Jayanagar Shopping Complex. It also has well-maintained parks on either side. Shopping, multiplex, restaurants and fast food Centres are available in 4th Block.

Connectivity

The locality has a bus station which is situated in Jayanagar fourth block, with BMTC buses connecting this area to all the major points in the city which includes Majestic, KR Market etc.

Jayanagar has a bus stand in 4th block and is easily accessible by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation buses.

Bangalore’s major railway station, Bangalore City Junction is located only about 10.2 km from Jayanagar via  Road, can be accessed less than half an hour.

Shanti Nagar Bus Depot, located just 4 km away, is the primary bus stop for anyone looking to travel out of town by KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) buses.

It has excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport which is located at a distance of 42  km via Bellary Road, the spectacular airport road enables speedy travel.

Its proximity to the central business district, close to IT hubs, and a fine mix of traditional and cosmopolitan population make it more attractive to the rich.

Factors for growth in the future

The residential real estate market here is doing good and the market has seen an upward trend because of the construction of metro feeder. Jayanagar metro station will be a part of the green line that will run from Hesaraghatta Cross to Banashankari. The Bangalore development Authority is going to reconstruct BDA Complex which will have an auditorium, parking for four wheels and two wheelers and will have an air-conditioned vegetable market.

Infrastructure (Social & Physical)

Many reputed educational institutions are located here. The locality has a number of famous international schools and schools affiliated to various boards of education like RV Dental College, Oxford College, and Institute of Business Management and Research (IBMR), Ekya School JP Nagar, Sai Vidya Kendra, The Learning Curve, Carmel Convent High School, Vivekananda Educational Centre, Bangalore High School, J S S Primary School among few.
