Overview
Situated near NICE Road in the southern part of Bangalore, Hulimavu is administered by Bommanahalli Municipal Corporation. The word Hulimavu means ‘sour mango’ in Kannada. Few of the neighbouring localities include Gottigere, Begur, Bommanahalli, and Chandrasekarapura. Hulimavu is also famous of the renowned Kodandarama Swamy Temple, which was constructed during the 17th century by the then ruler, Saarakeya.

The major challenges faced by the residents of Hulimavu are inefficient storm water and municipal waste management. In few areas of Hulimavu, overflowing of Arakere Lake during heavy rains causes severe problems to the residents.
