Overview

Goregaon West, situated in the city’s northern parts is one of the fastest growing residential localities in Mumbai. The locality’s growth has started after the 1970 due to commercialization of the area. The famous Aarey Milk Colony established in the year 1995 lies in the locality. This locality is surrounded by Malad East & West, Goregaon East, Oshiwara, Lokhandwala Complex, Jogeshwari West, Charkop Gaon etc are its neighbouring localities. The locality is now turning into a wealthy suburb. It is close to the two famous localities of Mumbai namely Andheri and Borivali. Goregaon Railway Station is the transport hub of Goregaon. Mumbai is located at a distance of 17 km via Western Express Highway while Thane is at a distance of 27 km via Eastern Express Highway/Mumbai-Agra National Highway. Its distance to Navi Mumbai is approximately 37.3 km via Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road. The locality has two big bus depots Dindoshi and Goregaon. Premium commercial offices, IT companies, educational institutes and hospitals in the area, have added to the importance of Goregaon West. Due to rapid urbanization, Goregaon West has developed into a well-developed residential locality for families as well as working people. The locality offers almost all kinds of transportation facilities, including buses, taxis, auto rickshaws, metro and trains. Film city is also located in this area.

Connectivity

Goregaon Railway Station is the transport hub of Goregaon. Most awaited Harbour Line services on Western Railways between Andheri to Goregaon has started and commuters at Andheri, Jogeshwari, Ram Mandir, Goregaon could take benefits of this service.

It has excellent connectivity to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport which is located at a distance of 10 km via Western Express Highway. There are two major arterial roads which passing through the locality and further links it with Western Express Highway.

Kandivali, Malad, Goregaon, Oshiwara (Ram Mandir), Jogeshwari, and Andheri are the nearby railway stations to Goregaon West. However, Goregaon is the nearest railway station which is located at a distance of 1.3 km via Mahatma Gandhi Road.

Phase-1 of Mumbai Metro with one of its route (Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar) passes through the locality. Andheri, Azad Nagar, D N Nagar, Versova are the nearby metro stations. However, Versova is the nearest metro station to Goregaon East which is located at a distance of 5.6 km via Link Road.

It is well connected to the commercial locations on its north and south. While, highway connects it directly to the International Airport, Lokhandwala-Malad Link Road, The Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road and SV Road.

The extension of the route, from Andheri to Goregaon has begun operating all 49 scheduled services on the Harbour Line.

Proposed & Planned Infra

The proposed Phase III of the Mumbai Metro between Andheri east to Dahisar will further boost this regions connectivity.

The Mrinal Tai Gore flyover in the western suburbs is now going to be extended up to Link Road in Goregaon.

The Mumbai civic body has proposed to extend Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) to reduce travel time from Andheri Lokhandwala and Oshiwara to Western Express Highway (WEH) from 40 mins to merely 10 mins.

Due to the establishment of many companies, the demand of rental properties has increased in the locality and many people are investing in Goregaon West, just to earn rental income.

With its easy connectivity to commercial hubs, along with recreational spaces and amenities such as schools, hospitals and malls, Goregaon west has turned into a most sought after destination for property seekers.

Malad, Andheri and Bandra, have developed into a commercial and business hubs in recent years, with many companies establishing their base in these areas. This has boosted the demand for rental properties in Goregaon west.
