Chinchwad is a posh localities situated in the north-western parts of Pune. The locality is well-known for its posh localities. It comes under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Tathawade, Hinjewadi, Wakad, Punawale, Pimple Saudagar, Kaspate Wasti, Thergaon, Kalewadi, Pimple Gurav, Pimple Nilakh are the localities come under Chinchwad. It has close proximity to some of the prominent localities of Pune such as Dasar, Baner, Aundh, Khadki, Balewadi, Pashan, Dhanori, Bavdhan, Kothrud, Bhugaon etc. This locality is well connected by road, rail and air. Mumbai Highway or Mumbai-Pune Bypass Road which is known as NH 48 passes through the centre of the locality. There is a plan to set up a new airport near Chakan. Pune - Lonavala suburban local trains run through this area.

Chinchwad is well connected by road, rail and air. It has a State Transport Bus stand Pimpri-Chinchwad Bus Stand at Vallabhnagar.

Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) operates the public transport system in this area. A Rainbow BRTS system is also operation in this area.

It enjoys excellent connectivity to Pune International Airport which is situated at a driving distance of 26 km via Mumbai-Pandharpur Road/Old Mumbai-Pune Highway.

Aundh-Ravet BRTS Road, Aditya Birla Hospital Marg, Datta Mandir Road, Aundh-Ravet BRTS Road, Kalewadi Main Road, Hinjewadi-Kasarsai Road, and Wakad-Bhosari BRTS Road are the internal roads of Chinchwad which further has its access to NH 48.

Akurdi, Chinchwad, Pimpri, Kasarwadi, Kasarwadi are nearby railway stations to Chinchwad. However, Chinchwad is the nearest and major railway station which is mere 1.5 km away from this locality via Chinchwad Road.
