Connectivity
Factors for Growth
The booming IT/ITeS, Biotech and Engineering sectors have had an impact on residential and commercial property development along the Begur Road. The transformation of a village into a micro-market has happened due to the presence of IT companies like Wipro, Infosys, Siemens and BHEl in the close-by areas. Low land and rental prices coupled with reduced pollutions has attracted many people to this locality. Moreover, the proposals of widening the Bannerghatta-Begur Road from 90 feet to 150 feet will further improve the connectivity and boost development in this locality.
Infrastructure Developments - Social & Physical
Major Challenges
The major challenge faced by the residents of Begur Road are bad roads. So much so that driving on the road connecting Begur to Hosur is a nuisance due to its pathetic condition. Overflowing manholes, untreated garbage, blocked sewage lines and drying up of the Begur Lake which is source of water supply to the residents here, are some other prevailing issues in this area.
