Overview
Baramati is one of the well known historical places in Maharashtra, situated at the banks of the river Karha. The town has a historical significance because of Shri. Babuji Naik. It has two old temples Shri Kashi Vishweshwar located on the west bank of the river while the other is of Shri Siddheshwar, located on the east bank of the river. It is a small town comes under Pune Municipal Corporation. Today, Baramati has done remarkable development in the field of IT and Education. It is also considered as one of the most agricultural hubs of Western India. It is situated at a distance of 107 km from Pune. Now, it is a popular destination for tourists visiting this part of the country. Being an agricultural hub, Baramati produces the significant amount of sugarcane, grapes, jawar, cotton, and wheat. This small town is also known for its various reputed educational institutions in the field of agriculture, Law, Engineering, and Biotechnology, a medical college is on its way to get established. Jalochi, Sawal, Pimpali, Medad, Gojubavi, Kalphal are its neighboring localities.


Connectivity
The city also has an airport which is located at a driving distance of 8 km via MH SH 68, presently hosts a flying school. Pune International Airport located at a distance of 109 km.

Baramati is well connected to Pune by road and railways. The area is surrounded by Doordrishti Road, Baramati-Pune Road, Phaltan-Baramati Road, Canal Road and Baramati-Daund Road which further add these to MH SH 221 and Baramati Bhigwan Road.

Baramati, Bhigwan, Katphal, Shirsuphal, Shirsai are its nearby railway stations. However, Baramati Railway Station is the nearest railway stations to Baramati which is located at a driving distance of 4.9 km via MH SH 68.

The MIDC is also present in Baramati and is home to several companies like ISMT Limited, Bharat Forge Limited, Godfrey Phillips, Schreiber Dynamix Dairies Limited and Kenersys among others which will create job opportunities and at the same time demand of residential demand and development in the localities.
