Baner is a highly developed locality lies in the Western side of Pune. It is located off the Katraj-Dehu Road by-passing Pune city. Baner is bordered by Pashan in south, Balewadi to the west, Aundh to the north and Pune University to the east. Pashan, Balewadi, Aundh, Ram Nagar, Veerbhadra Nagar, Vasant Vihar, Samarth Colony, Adarsh Nagar, Vinayak Nagar, Pimple Nilakh, Sus and Pune University are its neighboring localities. Mula River is also passing through the locality. It is mostly a residential and commercial hub of Pune and large portions are occupied by various IT companies. Ten years ago Baner was known for its agricultural development. It is home to a growing number of popular restaurants, cafes and pubs. It’s proximity to Hinjewadi IT hub is attracting IT professionals to live in this locality.

Baner road runs from University circle on the east to the Dehu-Katraj bypass (NH 4) on the west.

Baner road serves as the main approach road for the bypass which in-turn connects to the Mumbai Pune Expressway.

Locality enjoys close proximity to Pune International Airport which is located at a distance of 25.2 Km via Baner Road can be covered in 1 h.

There are mainly three road which pass through the locality are Sutarwadi Baner Gaon Road, Baner Road and Balewadi Road which further connect it to the Mumbai-Pune Bypass Road.
