Role Quality and Inspection

Key Responsibilities Inspection Management: Oversee Incoming Quality Control (IQC) for raw metal sheets, In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) during bending or welding, and Final Quality Control (FQC). Defect Analysis: Identify common sheet metal defects such as burrs, spring-back, or weld spatters, and use 7 QC Tools or 8D methodology to perform root cause analysis. Compliance & Standards: Maintain and audit quality systems like ISO 9001, AS9100 (aerospace), or IATF 16949 (automotive). Testing & Measurement: Utilize precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and coating thickness gauges to verify part dimensions against engineering blueprints. Process Improvement: Collaborate with the production team to implement Six Sigma or Lean initiatives to reduce scrap and rework. Required Skills & Experience Technical Knowledge: Expertise in sheet metal operations like shearing, blanking, punching, and bending. Blueprints: Ability to interpret complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) on technical drawings. Tools: Proficiency with Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and 5 Core Quality Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA). Experience: Typically 110 years depending on the seniority (Jr. vs. Sr. Quality Engineer). Standard Qualifications Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering. Certifications: NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or welding inspection certifications are often preferred
