Yewalewadi, Pune

Overview
The city of Pune is growing at a rapid pace and so are its suburbs. Yewalewadi is one such locality, situated towards the south-east parts of Pune. This locality comes under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The locality is close to both industrial area and IT hub. It is well-connected to the important localities such as Camp, Wanowrie, NIBM, and Hadapsar. Other prominent localities, situated close to it are Pisoli, Vadgaon Budruk, Narhe, Bibvewadi, Undri, Handewadi, Kondhwa, Wanowrie, Nanded etc. Yewalewadi’s strong road transport makes up for most of its traveling easy and quick. Pune is located at a distance of 12.9 km via Gangadham - Shatrunjay Road. It is well connected with Undri, an important hub of Central Pune that connects various key localities through interstate highway and expressway. It is also a part of the upcoming Ring Road in Pune. Some major IT Parks located close to Yewalewadi are Pune IT Park, Amanora Park Town, Software Technology Parks of India, and International Tech Park etc.

Connectivity
The Katraj-Hadapsar Bypass passes through the locality which further join Mumbai-Pune Bypass for people who travel often in both places giving them convenience. Another important connecting stretch is Kondhwa Road which further links to NH-9.

Some of the major roads that run through it include the Mumbai-Hyderabad highway, Kondhwa road and Solapur road.

It has excellent connectivity to Pune International Airport which is located at a distance of 23.9 km via Mundhwa Road/Beed-Ahmednagar-Pune Road.

Saswad Road, Pune Junction, Ghorpuri, Shivaji Nagar, Hadapsar are its nearby railway stations. However, Pune Junction railway station is the major and the nearest railway station to Yewalewadi, located at a distance of 12 km via Kondhwa Road.

Proposed and Planned Infra
The new development plan has proposed a new crematorium and cemetery, reservation for a primary school, market as well as garden, and a special 18-meter wide road to join the Ring Road.

Proposed Ring Road development plans by PMRDA. The PMRDA will provide water, drainage, electricity, gardens, schools, hospitals, bus stands, parking spaces and open spaces in these areas.

The Katraj-Kondhwa-Phursungi-Solapur highway is also being widened.

Factors for past growth
One of the reasons why demand for housing has increased in this area is its green surroundings. The area has lush greenery which is protected under Government regulations. Employees of nearby companies such as TCS, IBM, Honeywell, and Accenture has seen the advantages of living in Yewalewadi.

Apart from that development of the Ring road and the widening of the Katraj-Kondhwa-Phursungi-Solapur highway will drive the surely drive the rental demand in the locality as well as reduce the travel time for the residents of Yewalewadi.

Vidyashilp Public School, Sinhgad School of Business, Sinhgad Nursery School, MSB Educational Institute, Sarhad School, Little Millennium, Sinhgad City School, M J Phule School are some of the reputed schools located in and around Yewalewadi. It also houses some colleges nearby. These includes Sinhgad Colleges of Commerce, Sinhgad Academy of Engineering, Trinity College of Engineering and Research among others.
