Overview
Patlipada, situated in the north of Thane. Previously, it was a village but It has now been transformed into a town. It is a residential complex and the official residence of the Thane Municipal Corporation. It is considered one of the important suburbs on the central side. It is situated on the Ghodbunder Road which is 6-7 km away from the Thane Railway Station. Commercial activities is on full pace in this locality. The Sanjay Gandhi National Park area is across the road. If you are coming from Thane Railway Station, Patlipada falls after Manpada and before Waghbil. The Growth of the Thane city set down to its growing residential , commercial, retail, and infrastructure development. The locality has opened way for development like Ghodbunder Road and Pokhran Road among others. The size of the city has increased huge in recent times driven by a residential boom due to people moving away from Mumbai and Thane to find affordable homes and good amenities. The development of high end residential complexes such as Hiranandani Estate, The Rutu Estate, and Nisarg-Tapovan has increased the large number of people into this area.
Connectivity
Transport facilities are good in the locality. Thane Municipal Transport (TMT), Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Mira-Bhayander Municipal Transport (MBMT), and MSRTC provide public bus service to the area. Auto Rickshaw, normal and AC Taxis are available to travel within the city.
It has excellent connectivity to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport which is located at a distance of 33.6 km via Eastern Express Highway.
Diva, Mumbra, Kalva, Thane, and Mulund are its nearby railway station. However, Thane Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Patlipada which is located at a distance of 10 km via NH48 and Eastern Express Highway.
Proposed and Planned Infra
The recently approved Metro Line-4 of Mumbai Metro from Wadala to Kasarvadavali is 32.32 km. long elevated corridor with 32 stations.
