Old Madras Road (a 7 km stretch) is located in north-eastern parts of Bangalore and is also popularly known as Old Byappanahalli. It is located in Krishnarajapuram and one of the zones of BBMP. Old Madras Road is also part of NH4 which connects Mumbai and Chennai. The locality has a mixture of both commercial and residential areas. Earlier it was a industrial area which had industries like NGEF and Tin Factory, later these properties were demolished and made way for residential and commercial projects. The cable bridge on the junction of Old Madras Road and Outer Ring Road was declared as the most outstanding National Bridge by the Indian Institution of Bridge Engineers. It is located 15 km from Bangalore City Railway Station. The Outer Ring Road is road connects all major highways around the city - Tumkur Road (NH 4), Bellary Road (NH7), Old Madras Road (NH 4), Hosur Road (NH 7), Bannerghatta Road, Kanakapura Road (NH 209), Mysore Road (SH-17) and Magadi Road. Hebbal(NH7), Banaswadi, Krishnarajapuram(NH4), Marathahalli, HSR Layout, Madiwala(NH7), BTM Layout, JP Nagar, Banashankari, Kengeri, Bangalore University, Nagarbhavi, Nandini Layout, Kengeri Upanagara and Gokula are the major neighborhoods and suburbs.

Connectivity

The region has excellent connectivity to other parts of Bangalore City via BMTC buses and other public transport. The locality also has a well constructed Metro connectivity, with the main Metro terminal on Old Madras Road.

It has excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport which is located at a distance of about 31 km via SH104 and 44 km via NH 44 and NH 75.

KR Puram also known as Krishnarajapuram is the nearest railway station and it is located at a distance of 8.9 km via NH 75. Other nearby stations are Hoodi Halt, Whitefield, Baiyyappanahalli Cabin, and Channasandra. Bangalore City Railway Station is 29 km away from Old Madras Road via NH 75.

Bangalore's main railway station, the Bangalore City Railway Station is 27.8 km away from Old Madras Road. Krishnarajapuram is located at the junction of Old Madras Road and Outer Ring Road and th nearest railway station to Old Madras Road. It falls on the Bangalore - Chennai broad gauge line.

The Old madras Road also has several Metro stations along its stretch which includes Halasur, The Vivekananda Metro Station, and the Baiyappanahalli station.
