Overview
Mohammad Wadi is a major residential zone, located in the south-eastern fringe of Pune city. A sleepy panchayat village till 1996, Mohammad Wadi has emerged as an attractive destination for home buyers due to its future potential coupled with good connectivity to Kondhwa-Katraj Bypass, Solapur Highway, Mumbai-Bangalore Expressway and Lohegaon Airport through the Hadapsar-Kharadi Bypass. The locality came under the jurisdiction Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in the year 1997 and infrastructural delay is constantly being fixed in the area at present. This locality is surrounded with 200 acres of forest under the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Kondhwa, Undri on the other two sides. Kondhwa, Wanowrie, SRPF, Undri, Handewadi, Pisoli, Sasane Nagar etc are some of the prominent localities situated close to it. It is also well connected to suburbs like Hadapsar and Pisoli. Mohammadwadi does not have too many commercial zones and lies in close proximity to Pune Camp. Connectivity to areas like Wanowrie and Kondhwa are also reasons for the boost in the development of the area while Hadapsar is also easily accessible from Mohammadwadi. There are several high-end residential projects that are coming up in this suburban zone which is dotted with beautiful hills and lovely forests.

Connectivity
Mohammadwadi offers excellent connectivity to the Solapur Highway, Lohegaon Airport (via the Hadapsar-Kharadi Bypass), Kondhwa-Katraj Bypass and the Mumbai-Bangalore Expressway. The area is also well linked to suburban zones like Pisoli and Hadapsar.

Pune International Airport is located at a driving distance of 20 km via Beed-Ahmednagar-Pune Road, and Mundhwa Road.

Saswad Road, Ghorpadi, Pune Junction, and Pune Junction are its nearby railway stations. However, Pune Junction railway station is the major railway station to Mohammed Wadi, from where one can get the trains for the interstate. Pune Junction is located at a distance of 10 km via Wanwadi Road.

Factors for past growth
A large number of serving and retired defense personnel, retired civil servants, IT professionals and businessmen have chosen to settle in this suburb. Hence, the huge residential demand and developments are seen in the locality.

Skyrocketing real estate development has transformed the entire locality and the PMC is now providing the basic civic amenities and other infrastructures.

Factors for future growth
The area is developing into one of the best suburbs of Pune and currently houses a number of educational institutes, leading restaurants, entertainment joints, and supermarkets to cater to different sections of people. I am sure that the PMC administration will be able to provide basic civic infrastructure to its residents. As a result, residential demand will be seen in the locality in the days to come.

Mohammed Wadi boasts of several renowned schools including VIBGYOR High School, NIBM, Delhi Public School Pune, The Bishop’s School, Sanford School, Euro School Undri, RIMS International School and Junior College, Orchids International School, Kidzee, Little Angels School, Ahura School, Lexicon Kids Undri, Hill Green High School etc. It also houses some colleges nearby such as Sinhgad Law College, Hillgreen High School & Junior College, St. Mathews Academy, and Junior College, Pragnya College, Sinhgad Academy of Engineering, Vishwakarma College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Sinhgad College of Commerce among others.
