Overview

Koramangala, situated in the south-eastern part of the city is the most attractive and preferred locality which is well-known for its luxury and comfort living. The majority of space is occupied by retailers and restaurants. Its location advantages between Bangalore & Electronic City attracted newcomers from across the country during Bangalore’s IT booms of the late 1990s. As a result, it has steadily developed into a commercial hub. Spread over an area of 1800 acres, the locality is one of the highly priced locality in Bangalore. It is located just 8 km from Bangalore City. Ejipura, Domlur, HAL, Langford Town, BTM Layout, Jayanagar, JP Nagar, BTM 2nd Stage, HSR Layout, Bellandur, Marathahalli are its neighbouring localities. This locality is surrounded by Hosur Road, Sarjapur Main Road, and Intermediate Ring Road. Arterial roads which are passing through the locality are 80 FT Road or Srinivagilu Main Road, 20th Main Road or Ganapathi Temple Road, and Sarjapur Main Road which further link the locality with NH 44 via Sarjapur Main Road. The Intermediate Ring Road helps connect the Old Airport Road to the Hosur Road and Electronic City while Sarjapur Road helps link ORR (Outer Ring Road) and the IT Corridor. The 80 Feet Road leads to Vivek Nagar and MG Road. The proposed Green Line of the Namma Metro which will operate between Nagasandra to Puttenahalli will have a metro station at Jayanagar which is about 5 km from Koramangala. It has close proximity to major employment hubs such as Electronic City, International Tech Park (ITPB), Embassy Golf Link Business Park, Embassy Tech Village, RMZ EcoSpace etc.

Connectivity

The locality is well connected to other parts of the city via road and rail due to its strategic location. BMTC bus depots are present in every block. The road to Bommanahalli and Bommasandra now houses Electronic City, home to many IT Companies. BMTC Buses, private auto rickshaw and cabs improve intra-city connectivity to  the locality.

It has excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport which is located at a distance of 42.4 km via Bellary Road.

Majestic Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Koramangala which is located at a distance of 11 km via Seshadri Road. Other stations are Bangalore Cantt and Bangalore City Junction Railway station.

South End Circle Metro Station is located at a distance of 7.4 km from the locality.

Proposed Namma Metro Phase-3 with one of its route Carmelaram - Yelahanka (32 km) is sure to provide great relief to current traffic problems.

Under-construction 2.4 km long flyover from the Kendriya Sadan Junction to the Ejipura Main Road junction in Koramangala.

A new sewage pumping station is set to come up at Koramangala Sports Complex.
