Kasba Peth, Pune

Overview
Kasba Peth is one of the oldest residential suburb situated in the centre of Pune City. It comes under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). It was the first peth in Pune to be established. It is located at Ver Santaji Ghorpade road and runs parallel to Mula Mutha River. This locality is very close to Shaniwar Wada Palace Fort. Earlier, it was just a small residential area whereas now it has growth to be king of all Peths in Pune. Modi Colony, Budhwar Peth, Deccan Gymkhana, Shivaji Nagar, Sangamvadi, Model Colony, Nirman Vihar, Wakdewadi etc are the prominent localities situated close to it. Kasba Ganpati temple is the best part of Kasba Peth. It is one of the most crowded areas of Pune during Ganesh Chaturthi festivals. Lal Mahal which is the fort of Shivaji Maharaj is also located here. Apart from residences, you can also find a number of earthen pot makers and copper/brass utensils manufacturer. Budhwar Peth and Shaniwar Peth in the Southwest, Rasta Peth in the Southeast, Raviwar Peth in the South, and Mangalwar Peth in the East are the neighbouring Peths of Kasba Peth. The city of Pune is situated at a distance of 1 km from kasba Peth and 151 km from Mumbai.

Connectivity
As far as connectivity is concerned, Mumbai Highway is passing through its east while Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road is on its west. Veer Santaji Ghorpade Road and Dengale Bridge Road are its internal roads. The traffic of the area is very minimum compared tall the other Peths around.

It enjoys excellent connectivity to Pune International Airport which is located at a driving distance of 15.3 kms via Lohegaon Road/Airport Road.

Shivaji Nagar, Ghorpadi and Pune Junction are the nearby railway station. However, Pune Junction is the nearest railway station to Kasba Peth, located at a driving distance of 2 kms via Mumbai Highway/Mumbai Pandharpur Road/Dr. Annie Besant Road.
