Overview
Kamothe, located in the east of Mumbai is a node of Navi Mumbai developed and maintained by CIDCO. It is a well planned locality has a cosmopolitan population. It is located very close to Mumbai (32 km via Bangalore-Mumbai Highway) and Navi Mumbai (9.9.km via Mumbai-Pune Highway). It is situated on the Sion-Panvel Highway and the 3rd node after Panvel and Kalamboli. The site of Kamothe adjoins the Central Business District of Belapur (CBD Belapur) of Navi Mumbai and is surrounded by Kharghar in its north, Taloja in north-east, Kalamboli in its east and Panvel in its south. The western region of Kamothe is a wetland area with enormous mangroves. Nearby Kamothe localities include Kalamboli, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, New Panvel East, Navade, Seawoods, Panvel, Dapoli, and Ulwe.
Connectivity
Kamothe has two railway stations Mansarovar and Khandeshwar that lie on the harbour line, a part of Mumbai suburban railways. Apart from that, there are railway stations at Panvel and Nerul. The Panvel railway station is approximately 7.5 kilometres from Kamothe via NH 48.
Sion-Panvel Highway, JNPT Road, Mumbai-Pune National Highway and Panvel Bypass Uran Road are some of the prominent roads which run though the area.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport which is located at a distance of 38.4 km via Bangalore-Mumbai Highway is about an hour away from the area. There is also a new airport coming up at Navi Mumbai which is very close to the area.
Auto rickshaws provide the primary means of personal local transportation. BEST, NMMT and MSRTC/ST buses serve as another means of transportation over a long distance to various nodes through Navi Mumbai. The area has an extensive bus service and the Belapur Bus Stand and Panvel Bus Stand, lie in close vicinity.
Proposed/Planned Infrastructure
Cashing in on the international airport CIDCO has some ambitious plans for Navi Mumbai as well. A 100 hectares corporate park will be developed in the Kharghar region on the lines of BKC, hoping to attract both investments and corporate occupiers. The NMIA is expected to commence operations by December 2019.
CIDCO is also planning to build a 750m-long service road to connect the nodes of Kharghar and Kalamboli. The road will be constructed between Spaghetti complex in sector 15, Kharghar, and Roadpali road. Similarly, another service road between Kamothe node and Kharghar will be built by CIDCO. The road will be constructed between sector 10, Kharghar, and sector 36, Kamothe.
Factors for future growth
The suburb is connected well with major landmarks of Mumbai. As a result, there has been a surge in the demand for residential apartments in Kamothe.
The Global IT Park India Pvt Ltd, Sigma IT Park, Loma IT Park, Raheja IT Park and Innovative Infocom & IT Park Navi Mumbai are located at an approximate distance of 16 kilometres from the area.
The Taloja industrial area is located at an approximate distance of 1-1.5 kilometres from the area. And people working in those areas like Kamothe their residence. Thus, creating employment opportunity and rental yield for the locality.
CIDCO has got approval for its Navi Mumbai International Airport in Panvel and it is expected that work on first phase will be completed by end of the 2019.

Kamothe offers very good social infrastructure to its residents.
