Kalyan West, Mumbai

Overview:

Kalyan West situated in the eastern parts of Thane is one of the oldest towns in Maharashtra. It is a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It is a neighbouring city of Mumbai and comes under the jurisdiction of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC). Kalyan East and Kalyan West are connected with the railway line. Compared to Kalyan East, Kalyan West is a more urbanised area. It is just 19.9 km from Thane via NH 160 while 41.2 km away from the Mumbai City via Eastern Express Highway. Being one of the oldest city, it is well-planned and has a cosmopolitan population. Bhiwandi, Dombivli, Badlapur, Titwala, Kolegaon, Mumbra, Thane West, Airoli, Mulund West, Powai are some of the nearby neighbouring localities to Kalyan West. Some of the major highways passing nearby the localities are NH 61, NH 160, NH 848, Kalyan-Shilphata Road (SH 76). Chikanghar, Shivaji, Shankar Rao, Tilak, Gandhi, Parnaka, Dudhnaka, Durgadi Killa Area Road, Syndicate, Das Wadi, Karnik Road, Kala Talao and Baug Lane are the neighbouring areas of Kalyan West. There are a number of noted projects which have come up in the area such as Dattatray Shrushti Avenue, Virkar Anand Homes, Seasons Elite, Gurukrupa Guru Atman, Honest Developers Kalyan Nagari, and Royce Vaibhavi City among others.

Connectivity:

Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Transport (KDMT) buses run in the city and surrounding areas. The area has an extensive bus service and Mulund Bus Stand and Thane Bus Stand lie in close vicinity.

Kalyan West has excellent connectivity to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport which is situated at a distance of 43 km via Eastern Express Highway.

The Locality of Kalyan West is well-connected to all important regions via highway, BEST links roads, pathway and local train.

Kalyan Junction is the major and nearest railway station to Kalyan West situated at a distance of 2 km via Agra Road.

Kalyan-Murbad Road, Agra Road and Kalyan-Badlapur Road are some of the prominent roads which run through the area.

Proposed & Planned Infra:

MMRDA has also planned two monorail stretches- one will link Kalyan to Ulhasnagar and Dombivli, and the other will link Kalyan to Mahape.

A four-lane expressway is also being built that will connect Kalyan to Virar-Vasai-Diva-Bhiwandi-Panvel and Alibag.
