Overview
Hinjewadi is a locality in the western part of Pune city and lies very close to the bypass of National Highway 4. The other localities of Pune, like Talegaon, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Amby Valley, is located close to Hinjewadi. Till recent years, Hinjewadi was a rural locale, but with the development of the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, it is today recognised as an IT Hub of Pune. With the opening of the IT Park, the locality saw the development of a large number of residential spaces, while other commercial spaces too developed as a result of it.
A number of reputed educational institutions like the Blue Ridge Public School, Mercedes-Benz International School and Symbiosis International University are located in the vicinity, which offers quality education. Apart from this, other basic amenities like Banks, ATM’s and departmental stores etc. are also available in the locality to cater to daily needs of the local population. A large number of residential as well as commercial projects are expected to come up in Hinjewadi. On the verge of development, Hinjewadi would be an ideal locality to live and invest in.

Connectivity

It is off the Katraj–Dehu Road Bypass on the western side in the city of Pune. There are two main road Hinjewadi Phase-2 Road and Marunji Road, passes through the locality which further connects it to the Katraj-Dehu Bypass and Service Road.

Akurdi Railway Station, Chinchwad Railway Station, Pimpri Railway Station, Kasarwadi Railway Station, Dapodi Railway Station are the nearby railway stations. However, Akurdi Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Hinjewadi.

This locality enjoys excellent connectivity to Pune Airport which is located at a distance of 26 km via Hinjewadi-Aundh Road.

Factors for future growth

Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has suggested a metro route between Hinjawadi and Shivajinagar. The line will travel through PMC, PCMC and MIDC areas. This will must invite residential development and rental demand in the locality in coming days.

Proximity to Pune Airport along with major IT Parks such as Software Technology Park Of India, Hinjewadi IT Park, Pune IT Park and Lohia Jain IT Park have been a plus point for Hinjewadi, driving rental demand and providing consistent rental yield.

It’s excellent connectivity to the major parts of the Pune City, adequate social infrastructure like proposed Pune Metro Rail and presence of commercial and retail spaces, this area is transforming into a vital residential destination.

Major issues

Due to rapid development, Hinjawadi is facing serious traffic problems during peak hours. Heavy Motor vehicles are not allowed due to congestion on the roads.
