Overview

Hazratganj is one of the oldest locality, located in the centre of Lucknow. It is well connected to the rest of the regions of Lucknow via roads and highways. The area is situated at the intersection of several national highways, namely NH 24, 24B 25 and 28. It is also considered as the “Heart of Lucknow. It is the busiest shopping area of Lucknow where most of the bazaars are located and is known as Park Avenue of Lucknow. One can also say it a small version of Connaught Place, New Delhi. The four landmarks of lucknow stand out in Hazratganj are Mayfair Cinema, British Council Library, Lucknow Coffee House, and Ram Advani Bookshop. Balmikinagar, Jugauli, Wazirganj, Aminabad, Lalkuan, Nazirabad, Charbagh, Raja Bazar, The Mall Avenue are its neighbouring localities. Apart from Bazaar, locality also consists shopping complexes, restaurants, hotels, theaters and private and govt offices. The whole area along with the crossing comes under Lucknow's Heritage zone. Availability of resources in the area has engaged many companies to set up their factories and offices in the neighbourhood. Hazratganj is also the hub for various other handicrafts and handmade objects. A station has been proposed for Hazratganj under the Lucknow Metro Network.

 

Connectivity

It has excellent connectivity to Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport which is located at a distance of 18.9 km via NH 27 and Lucknow Road.

Badshahnagar, Daliganj Junction, Lucknow City, Aishbagh, Lucknow Alambagh are its nearby railway stations. However, Lucknow city is the nearest railway station to Hazratganj which is located at a distance of 4.8 km via Gautam Buddha Marg and 5.3 kms via Station Road.

Tata Projects Ltd has completed the Lucknow Secretariat to Hazratganj 812 metre underground tunnel boring work for Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation. It has been told by the Lucknow Metro Authority that Hazratganj metro station to be different from other metro stations. Once completed will reduce the travelling time by 20-25 minutes.
 

Proposed and Planned Infra

Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the district administration and Nagar Nigam will jointly developed plush “Pink” toilets exclusively for women in the state capital. Hazratganj is one of such localities.

PWD is planning to complete the new six-lane bypass (5.20 km) by March 2019. The new six-lane bypass will bring down the commuting time from 45-60 minutes to just 15 minutes.

The under-construction metro station in posh Hazratganj will be one of the best designed metro stations in the country. It is likely to be completed by end of the May 2018.

Jankipuram possesses best-in-class infrastructural facilities including: It has many reputed schools and educational institutions established by the British in its vicinity. Some of them are La Martiniere Girls’ College, La Martiniere Boys’ College, St. Francis’ College, Loreto Girls’ College and Christ Church College. Others educational institutions are Play House School, Lucknow Standard Public School, IBS Business School, Fun N Learn School, Cathedral Senior Secondary School and so on.

There are several shopping areas in Hazratganj, including the Sahara Ganj Mall which houses the PVR multiplex. The Naza Market is the largest market for IT and computer goods in UP. Other malls are City Life Mall, Oberon, Sahara Ganj Mall, ACE Airosa, and Jagur Mall to name a few.

Healthcare facilities are also good in the locality as it houses many renowned hospitals in its vicinity. Some of them are Nishat Hospital, Medwell Hospital, Handa Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Mayo Medical Centre, Dhanraj Hospital, Fatima Hospital, Mahanagar Hospital among few.
