Overview
Guindy, once a popular industrial region, situated in the southwest region of Chennai city has now emerged as a prominent residential hotspot in the city. It comes under the jurisdiction of Chennai Corporation. It is one of the important neighborhoods in Chennai. It is one of the important nodal points of road traffic in the Kathipara Junction of Guindy where Anna Salai, Mount-Poonamallee Road, Inner Ring Road, Jawaharlal Nehru Road, and GST Road meet. Guindy is surrounded by Saidapet in the North, Kotturpuram, and Adyar towards the east, Velachery in the south, Adambakkam and St. Thomas Mount in the west. Other prominent localities situated close to Guindy are Alandur, Adyar, Taramani, Meenambakkam, Nangainallur, Manapakkam, T Nagar, Ramapuram, Velachery, Madipakkam, Porur Palavakkam among others. Just a few yards from Kathipara in Guindy is the Guindy industrial estate, a hub for small and medium scale industries. It is home to many important landmarks in the city such as Guindy National Park - the only national park in the country within city limits. It is also home to multiple small and medium scale industries such as Guindy Thiru Vi Ka Estate. The residential transformation in Guindy majorly occurred with the influx of Thiru Vi Ka Industrial Estate that led to the expansion of several small as well as medium-scale industries. Some of the premier residential projects in Guindy include VGN Fairmont, LML Eterna, Sankar Homestead, Anmol River View, Jeppiaar Phase I, Indira Guindy among others.

Connectivity
Guindy is well connected by road and train services. There are lots of MTC operational buses plying through Guindy connecting with other parts of Chennai. It is also well connected by the trains with MRTS and Metro station.

Anna Salai, Mount-Poonamallee Road, Inner Ring Road, Jawaharlal Nehru Road, and GST Road are the major roads passing through the locality and connect it with SH 49.

It enjoys excellent connectivity to Chennai International Airport which is about 10 km via Chennai - Nagapattinam Highway/Chennai - Trichy Highway.

Saidapet, Guindy, St Thomas Mount are nearby railway stations to Guindy. However, Guindy Railway Station is the nearest railway station situated about 4.8 km via Race Course Road.

Little Mount, Guindy Metro, and Alandur metro stations lie at close proximity to Guindy.

Factors for past growth
It's proximity to Chennai International Airport, Guindy Railway and Metro Station along with IT/ITEs hubs and CBD which fueled the infrastructural development, benefitting the requirements for end-users.
