Badlapur, situated at the east of Thane. It is a part of the Thane district and considered as one of the fastest developing suburb in MMR. It is 15.6 km from Kalyan and 52.8 km from Mumbai City. The locality has excellent connectivity in terms of both roadways and railways. It constitutes of 4 small villages, i.e. Katrap, Kulgaon, Badlapur, and Manjarli. Badlapur Road is the major road connected to Thane from one side and Mumbai-Pune Expressway at other side. Navi Mumbai can be easily reach from Badlapur via Mahape. The locality is surrounded by many scenic beauties and serves as a weekend-point for the Mumbaikars and many nearby residents. The town is divided into the Eastern and Western region as the railway line runs in between it. Badlapur is famous for the Temple of Kondeshwar, Gajanan Maharaj Temple and Mulgaon Khandoba Temple. Other popular tourist attractions in Badlapur include various water parks and resorts, Barrage and Barvi Dam and Badlapur Fort. Prominent areas located close to Badlapur are Sanewadi, Surya Nagar, Kulgaon, Rameshwadi, Dattawadi, Shirgaon, Sonivali, Gaon Devi, Yadav Nagar, Kharvai, Badlapur Gaon, Belavali, Sai Gaon, MIDC, Manjarli Gaon, Eranjad, Katrap etc. Ulhas River is passing through the center of the locality. Distance between Thane to Badlapur is 37 km by Road along with an aerial distance of 26 km.
Connectivity
Badlapur is divided into eastern and western region as the railway line runs in between it. It offers good connectivity to neighbouring towns and cities and especially to Mumbai and Pune through well-developed roads and railways. Major arterial roads are Ambernath-Badlapur Road, Neral-Badlapur Road, Station Road, and DP Road which further link to SH80.
Badlapur, Ambernath, Ulhasnagar, Vithalwadi, and Kalyan Junction are its nearby railway stations. However, Badlapur is the nearest railway station located at a distance of 400 m while Kalyan Junction is the major railway station connecting it to major cities across India.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport located at a distance of 58.4 km via Badlapur-Katai Road.
